Steps to getting your Texas license as a teen

Finish Cherokee classroom instruction and driving requirements so you can receive your DE-964 Certificate of Completion.

Get your Texas learner's permit
Take your DE-964 paperwork to the DPS office when you are at least 15 years old so you can begin permitted driving practice.

Watch the required teen iTD video and keep the completion certificate for your road test appointment.

Log 30 hours of supervised driving
Complete your practice log with a licensed adult, including at least 10 hours of night driving.
